About this project
A complete new roof for a cottage at Virgin Place in Mousehole. The old covering was stripped back to the timbers, the structure was repaired and felted, and the roof was reslated with new terracotta ridges, a roof window and new leadwork throughout.

The outcome
A watertight slate roof with crisp terracotta ridge lines, sitting perfectly among the rooftops of Mousehole with the sea beyond.
Ben and his Team made a full size renovation of our Cottage in Mousehole during Covid times. Us living in south Germany, meant communication by telephone and zoom, but most important, somebody really taking care on site. Ben turned out to be not just a brilliant craftsmen, but also a care-taker, or even better a project manager setting up timelines with his subs and coordinating the whole process in close (zoom) communication with us. Total cost were close to forecasted, deviations were coming up, but mainly caused by the hidden condition of the house. So we give Ben and his Team 5 stars.
